Heritage

A workshop, not a factory.

Since 2025, Pro Tones has built guitars the slow way — because the slow way is the only way that lasts.

Pro Tones founder at the bench

Our Philosophy

We measure in decades, not quarters.

A Pro Tones is not built to be sold. It is built to be inherited. We choose tonewoods that take ten years to settle, finishes that cure for weeks, and details no spec sheet will ever capture.

The result is an instrument that ages like nothing else in your collection — one that sounds better the day you pass it on than the day it left our bench.

2025

The first bench

Elio Vance opens a one-room workshop with a single rule: build the guitar you would never sell.

1986

The Ember is born

After fourteen years of refinement, the Ember humbucker finds its voice and our name spreads by word of mouth.

2004

A second generation

The family hands down its templates — and its standards — to a new set of master luthiers.

Today

Still by hand

We build a few hundred instruments a year. Never more. Each one still passes through nine pairs of hands.
